National research hub within the area of healthy sports for persons with disabilities
2006-2008
One of the main goals in this project is to develop and establish a national research hub within the area of healthy sports for persons with disabilities. The project will coordinate and increase Swedish research efforts and establish a link between research and practice so that the outcome will be avaliable for persons with disabilities. Also a Master's degree at the University College of Gävle will be established in cooperation with the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.

Recruitment and attitudes (ROA)

The project aims to develop and carry out a concept with paralympic school days in Sweden and to develop and produce teaching aids and textbooks for arranging such days. During the time of the project representatives from every district will be educated.

SACE – South African Centre of Excellence for Athletes with Intellectual Disability
2007
A pilot project during 2007. A development cooperation between SUH and South African Sports Association for the Intellectually Impaired (SASAII), that aims to establish a centre (South African Centre of Excellence) within healthy sports. It will give athletes over the age 18 and with a intellectual disability a chance to develop their sport and to give them work training, education and practice that can give them a lasting employment in a safe environment.
